Will you work for art?
Does your art work for you?
If you answered YES to both questions, then welcome to The Club.
Artists that want to make a living doing what they love(!) and always loving what they do.
Please note that I believe we are ALL artists. Fixing a toilet as a pro plumber or doing accounting work crunching numbers in stunning, detailed spreadsheets or even wiping tushies as a parent who’s made caring for her/his offspring a primary pursuit all take artistry and make the world a more beautiful place.
That said, the last decade for me has been all about learning how to make a living as a writer. And the key catalyst in my opinion was making a commitment to up my game by taking Copyblogger’s Certified Content Marketing program.
Before I bit that bullet, for years I was a voyeur, reading their newsletters and grabbing resources from the Copyblogger website to help me hit the digital ground running. I highly recommend it.
And I’m also recommending something else: making an investment in yourself to go lead the life you know you’re meant to. That means time, money and a boatload of effort to put your dreams first.
This is not, by the way, any kind of paid endorsement for Copyblogger. I just am sharing my journey of stopping lurking around in the background and putting my professional growth into the foreground because it’s something I think we all should do.
ALSO, this isn’t just one of those, “PREACH!” moments, although feeding your soul doing what you dig is really my mantra. (And YES I just mixed a whole bag o’ spiritual references there — pick your preference =)

And… WRITE ON!
